WHO WE ARE
Educational and research consulting built for real differences
Founded by Dr. Angela Low, Ordinary Magic helps schools, early years centers, and health and community teams support children and families, grounded in the science of emotional intelligence, resilience, and child development. We believe inner worlds matter, adults matter, and differences matter, so instead of one-size-fits-all solutions, we meet people where they're at and offer practical, low-barrier tools that build capability and confidence.

WHY ORDINARY MAGIC?
Resilience isn't a superpower,
it's built from ordinary things.
Resilience researcher Ann Masten spent decades studying children who thrived despite adversity. She found that they had certain things in common- that were surprisingly ordinary. Having adults who cared, spaces they felt they belonged, having constructive and nurturing activities, possessing social and emotional competence (to name a few).

She called these ‘assets’ ordinary magic. And that's the heart of our work. Recognizing, celebrating and amplifying what already works, and building from there to bring in more evidence-based strategies that are practical and accessible… ordinary enough to be do-able in many contexts.

Strategic & research consulting
Working on something bigger? We work alongside organizations to develop curricula, evaluate programs, build parent engagement strategies, and transform how teams support children and families. Drawing on over 20 years of experience across education, public health, community, and corporate sectors, we help teams define goals, develop interventions, evaluate impact and improve their efforts.
